Liposomal Calcium
Liposomal calcium is used for delivery of calcium ions across the cell membranes. Calcium chloride is encapsulated in liposomes composed of 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DPPC) and cholesterol in a mass ratio of 1.9:1 at a total lipid concentration of 10 mg/ml. The calcium concentration in the liposome is 100 mM. The calcium encapsulation percentage is more than 99 %. The average size of liposomes is about 80 nm with poly dispersity index (dpi) of 0.1.
The Liposomal Calcium (Catalog No. DPC002CA) includes 2 ml of 100 mM calcium encapsulated in liposomes.
