Proteinase K assay
Proteinase K is broadly used to digest proteins in biological samples such as DNA or RNA preparations. The advantage of proteinase K is its activity under unconventional conditions such as inclusion of denaturing reagents urea, SDS or metal chelator EDTA. The Proteinase Assay is based on hydrolysis of a fluorescence-labeled protein and generates fluorescence emission at 535 nm (excitation 485 nm).
The Proteinase K Assay Kit (Catalog number PKA100K) includes 0.5 ml of 10 x assay buffer and 50 µl of 100 x substrate. for 100 assays of proteases in a 96-well plate format. Proteinase K in not included in the kit.
The Proteinase K Assay Kit Plus (Catalog number PKA100KE) includes 0.5 ml of 10 x assay buffer and 50 µl of 100 x substrate and 50 ul of 100 x proteinase K for 100 assays of proteases in a 96-well plate or 384-well plate format.
