Cell detection
The Cell Detection Dye detects cells by fluorescence emission at 535 nm with excitation at 485 nm. It can be used for quantification of cells. For example, a cell density of E. coli cells with 0.01 OD600 gives a fluorescence signal to background ratio of 25. It can measure cells with cell density beyond OD600 detection range (OD600 below 0.001). The assay is in a 96-well plate format and can be used for high throughput detection of bacterial and other cells. It may be used for drug-resistance studies of cells.
The Cell Detection Dye (Catalog No. CDD200) includes 0.1 ml of 100 x CDD Dye for 200 assays in a 96-well plate format.
